Band Plan Changes Suspended

Last week’s GB2RS reported changes to the datacomms sections of the 6-metre, 2-metre and 70-centimetre bands. The new band plan was announced by the RSGB Datacomms Committee on behalf of the RSGB VHF Committee after a period of consultation, which began in September 1998. Unfortunately, it has become apparent that there are still unforeseen problems with the result. Consequently, the RSGB has decided that, rather than press forward with changes regardless, a further consultation period of two months will be allowed, within which time all interested parties are invited to make their views known.
In the meantime, the proposed changes have been suspended. If you have an input or suggestion on the future application of the band plan, please send your comments to e-mail address: bandplan@rsgb.org.uk or by post to ‘Bandplans’, RSGB HQ, Lambda House, Cranborne Road, Potters Bar, Herts EN6 3JE.
Full details for consideration will appear in April's RadCom, here on this web site, the UK packet radio network, and GB2RS News.
