IMPORTANT NOTES Due to OFCOM Policy it is not currently possible to grant NoVs to Foundation Licences

Applications sent with invalid EMail addresses will be DISCARDED

> Do NOT put non-numeric data into fields where the labels are BLUE

This application form may be used for UP TO six ports. Please ONLY apply for the number of ports you actually require, and a maximum of one possible frequency per sub-band, in any case. For our purposes, the sub-bands are: 29 MHz, 50 MHz, 70 MHz, 145 MHz, 430 MHz, 434 MHz and 1297 MHz

If your application has been submitted successfully you will receive a copy of it to the EMail address you supplied within a short space of time

Please note that operation of this type of gateway must attended and at the main station address as on your licence validation document.

WHY WE NEED THIS INFORMATION
It is our collective responsibility to ensure that our use of the radio spectrum is as efficient as possible. Towards this objective, frequency coordination is employed as a tool to ensure maximum frequency re-use and minimum mutual interference. With this in mind, this form asks for the minimum information necessary in order to carry out frequency coordination of the application.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT
You will be sent an EMail (to the address you have supplied above) confirming the details of the application you submitted, and this should arrive within a few minutes. If it does not arrive within a reasonable space of time, please report this to dcc.online@dcc.rsgb.org .

Once your application has been received work will begin in respect of frequency co-ordinating your request alongside the existing Gateway stations and other applications which preceed yours.

Assuming frequency co-ordination is possible, your application will be sent to OFCOM who will issue your NoV.

THAT YOU MUST NOT OPERATE AN INTERNET VOICE GATEWAY STATION UNLESS YOU ARE IN POSSESSION OF A VALID NoV WHICH AUTHORISES YOU TO DO SO

NOTES
  • This form is not suitable for those wishing to provide Internet Gateway facilities via an established voice repeater. Please consult the Repeater Keeper for further information
  • This form will allow you to select up to six frequencies ("ports") for your NoV. If you need more than six frequencies you will require an additional NoV (and there will be an additional administration charge)
  • Failure to supply any of the requested information will delay processing of your application. It may be helpful if you supply a contact telephone number, which might speed resolution of any queries
  • All heights are in metres not feet
  • Applications must be for your Main Station Address, as shown on your licence documents
  • Applications for Club Callsign Stations cannot be currently be accepted. Checks are carried out to verify the holder of the callsign.
  • "ERP" (Effective Radiated Power) is the product of transmitter power in dBW and the antenna gain in dBd. For example assuming a maximum of 10 dBW ERP: if your antenna has 3 dB gain the maximum transmitter power will be 7 dBW (5 Watts)
  • Please be considerate and ask only for the minimum ERP necessary to achieve your objectives for this gateway station. It may be necessary - for frequency coordination purposes - for you to accept a lower than requested ERP.
  • It may not be possible to assign your requested frequency because your proposed use might cause harmful interference to users of already established gateways. Where possible, you will be offered an alternative frequency to use.
  • If you do not know your IARU Locator, please calculate it using the following method:-
    • Check your NGR by putting your postcode into the search on Multimap
    • Enter the NGR that Multimap shows you by clicking on our NGR to Locator Convertor
(credit is due to G4ANB for the conversion algorithms used)
  • If you need to contact someone about a previously submitted application (to withdraw, make changes, etc) please send an EMail to: dcc.online@dcc.rsgb.org

By submitting this application you agree that you understand that under current rules, Internet Gateways may ONLY be operated from the address shown on the Notice of Variation (which is the address for your Main Station as printed on your Validation Document) AND that the Gateway may only operate when you are PERSONALLY on those premises.

Further, you agree and acknowledge that any and all information supplied to the Radio Society of Great Britain or its officers in connection with this application will be sent to the regulator (Ofcom) and kept in their files.
