Description
The role of DCC Secretary is to provide support for the activities of DCC in a number of mission-critical areas. Familiarity with current packet radio technology and techniques (although not necessarily specialist knowledge) is a mandatory requirement. In particular the role entails accepting responsibility for ensuring effective and efficient communications as required by DCC, SysOps and users.


Role & Responsibilities
The Secretary will be responsible for the following:
  • Collating from Committee members Agenda items for future Committee meetings and ensuring that the Agenda are distributed to Committee members at the earliest practicable opportunity.
  • Keeping the minutes of all meetings of the Committee and ensuring that those minutes are distributed to all Committee members (via RSGB HQ) at the earliest opportunity after the meetings to which they relate.
  • Maintaining a master list of all action items arising from Committee meetings and reporting to Chairman the disposition and status of those action items.
  • Receiving reports from Corresponding members and preparing those reports for submission at Committee meetings.
  • Preparing for public release the approved "DCC Meeting Notes" via GB2RS News (as necessary), the packet radio network, internet news groups and the DCC WWW site.
  • Preparing approved news bulletins for public release via previously described electronic means and ensuring that hard copies are sent to RSGB HQ for filing.
  • Collating relevant information suitable for inclusion in the 'DCC NEWS LETTER'.
  • Producing and publishing via previously described electronic means the 'DCC NEWS LETTER' and ensuring that hard copies are sent to RSGB HQ for filing.
  • Additionally accepting responsibilities as described within the RSGB DCC Full Members' Job description.
