Description
The role of DCC High Speed Coordinator is to provide timely advice and guidance to the Committee regarding available high speed technology in the data communications field, and the applicability of that technology to amateur radio uses. A critical aspect of the role is the encouragement and development of a high speed (38,400 bps and greater) RF backbone network for UK amateur radio.
Role & Responsibilities
The High Speed Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
  • Investigation of high speed communications technology relevent to the UK amateur radio digital network.
  • Liaison with and provision of advice to groups wishing to experiment with high speed digital communications within the UK amateur radio digital network.
  • Management of the "DataLink" Ad Hoc working party.
  • Provide a centre of competence within DCC for all aspects of high speed digital communications within the sphere of influence of the Committee.
  • Additionally accepting responsibilities as described within the RSGB DCC Full Members' Job Specification.
