By: Iain Philipps
Date: 30 January 2001
Ref: DCC/FULL/REV-02a

Preface
In order that UK data communications users may have a clear understanding of the roles and responsibility of the various DCC members, "job specifications" are created for each role. These are regularly reviewed and updated as necessary.

Role
It is DCC's goal that all UK users of data communications modes should have ready access to advice from the Committee through a representative who has knowledge of their local area. Where possible, this will be through a "Full Member" of the Committee.

The primary function of a Full Member will be to provide a conduit between the Committee and the users of the data network in his/her area. Such members will therefore be required to submit regular reports of any DCC-related activities in which they have been involved and to attend all meetings of the Committee. Additionally, Full Members should be prepared to attend major amateur radio events (rallies, conventions, etc.) as a representative of DCC.

Full members have the following responsibilities:
  • Attending meetings of the Data Communications Committee
  • Providing advice to the relevant coordinator regarding applications from their assigned region.
  • Representing DCC at local meetings.
  • Providing information from the local network.
  • Providing a first point of contact with DCC.
