UK 430 MHz Data Bandplan

In accordance with IARU Region 1 policies, no allocations in excess of 25 kHz bandwidth are made between 430 and 440 MHz. DCC recognises that some systems are currently licensed on the basis that they do/will employ 50 kHz bandwidth. These systems may continue to operate, but no additional 50 kHz applications for this band will be accepted.

Such a decision has the advantage that a useful number of 25 kHz frequencies which had previously been "lost" are once again available. Every effort will be made to protect the current 50 kHz users, but inevitably there may be some co-channel issues which arise in areas where linking frequencies are under pressure from vast data volumes. Groups who are employing 50 kHz bandwidth schemes are urged to research alternatives which might provide a better "fit" into the band plan while maintaining high speed bit rate capabilities.
